Module 4

1. Summarize each of the 2 research links you found above.
The vanity blog that I chose is that of a pastor out here in the San Fernando Valley. He’s actually one of my best friend’s dad. He talks a lot about things going on in his life, within the church, and especially within his family. He keeps people and his church community updated on what is going on.
My information blog is one in which the author write a great deal on Las Vegas, Nevada and a multitude of things that go within that category. The blogs are geared towards topics such as attractions, hotels and motels, games, real estate, etc.

2. Do you feel blogging particularly supports this type of journalism as compared to print media? Why or why not?
Yes I do. Mainly because you are able to search and pick the type of blog you are looking for. You are able to interact with the author as well as post your own comments.

What makes for a good info. blog?
Providing accurate information is key. For example in the particular blog that I found it’s important that the information provided is correct because some people may base decisions on it. Such as when it gives ideas of attractions, or hotels. I found it to be a very good informational blog and people can even find it resourceful.

What makes for a good vanity blog?
I think that vanity blogs aren’t as much about what makes it good and what doesn’t. It’s more about the person expressing themselves and discussing whatever they wish. If they’re doing it to gain readers than I think that what would make it a good vanity blog is to make it appealing, attractive, and colorful.

3. Did the research material you found support or not support your original thesis (posted in module 1) To help you quantify your research, rate the preceding question on a scale of 1 to 5.

4. After doing this module, do you wish to change your original thesis statement?
No. I realized by both of these blogs that help give off information that other people can benefit from or learn. Such as things going on in the church from the vanity blog, or things to do in Vegas from the informational blog.
